Nose: Salted plums, some wood spice; quality cinnamon quills, gentle peat; heathery, earthy and aromatic. Some veg bullion & dried sage/Marjoram. Preserved dates, black wine gums, plum sauce, Highland (heather) honey (with honeycomb/wax).

Palate: Soft, round & juicy then gentle spice grows. Soft ripe fruits; plums & greengages, crunchy green pepper. The peat is balanced with salted heathery notes – Reminds me of Japanese preserved Sakura blossom (salted Flower)

Finish: The spice grows but is well balanced, gentle and aromatic; cloves, nutmeg, Nandita incense, camphor, burnt candle wicks & plum sauce

As we move into Autumn, so we turn our attention to the absolute joy of peated whisky. Peated whisky gathered in from around the Highland & Islands of Scotland…

These are some truly exceptional drams that East Coast Whisky has been collecting for a while. From Port Ellen to Lagavulin with a wild detour in between!! All these make for a special and already popular online whisky tasting, alongside your great company.

The Details

The tasting will be held on ZOOM, from 7.30-10pm GMT on Friday 23rd September (If you can’t make that time, a recording will be available afterwards).

The tasting is informative, yet also informal, with everyone able to join in, and to share their whisky enthusiasm rather than their ego’s!!

The 15ml drams will be mailed to you, 1st class signed for (in a padded box) at least a week before the tasting. International shipping is available upon request. You will also receive some tasting clues, the running order, and the Zoom link in the days before the evening.

The full set is £240, this price reflects the cost of the bottles & postage/packaging & preparing the tasting, and is nowhere near what you would pay for these drams in a bar!!

You can also take a 9 dram set for £200 by subtracting a Lagavulin of your choice.

Places are limited to just 30 participants, of which there is now only 1 space remaining, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

These are some of the EAST COAST WHISKY ultra rare bottles, and this your chance to try them. Yes it is not cheap, but if you have longed to taste possibly our best Clynelish, Brora and Mortlach in existence, then this is the whisky tasting for you...

...& as you will see that's not all. There is also the 50 year old North of Scotland, the 35 year old Glenlochy (the oldest), the legendary 1977 Convalmore 40, and last but by no means least the 1968 Signatory Glenlivet. This Glenlivet is not only insanely good, it is the first bottling Signatory ever released.

I will only ever be putting a few of these ultra tastings on, as such bottles are now almost impossible to get hold of. But I remain determined to share at least some of these true gems with you, as I am able to, when I am hunt them down. Particularly for those unable to travel with us to Brora and Dornoch this year.
